[Remote] Senior Accounting Specialist

They are seeking a Senior Accounting Specialist to supervise accounts payable processes, maintain financial records, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Recommends changes in methods or procedures to improve the efficiency of the AP unit
- Ensures all policies and procedures are implemented
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to research and resolve difficult AP related problems
- Superior follow-up skills to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner
- Directs and coordinates activities of employees engaged in conducting accounts payable processing and inquiries
- Daily interaction with customers and vendors
- Routinely involved with sales and purchasing as well as warehouse supervisors
- Reconciles general ledger activity of related AP accounts
- Assists with accounts receivable by supporting and maintaining customer accounts
Skills
- Supervises accounts payable processes, including maintaining records of amounts owed, verifying invoices, computing discounts, coding expenses
- Responsibilities include accounting functions up to financial statements including accounts payable, collections and other general accounting

- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Associate's degree in accounting
- Minimum of 3 years' previous experience in accounting or related area
