[Remote] Remote Global Tax Director - Pre-IPO High-Growth AI & SaaS Company - $500M Revenue
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. PCG Talent Network is representing a high-growth, $500M global Pre-IPO AI-driven SaaS company. They are seeking an Interim Director of Tax to oversee global tax strategy, compliance, reporting, audits, and planning, partnering closely with various departments to provide practical tax guidance and support international expansion.
Responsibilities
- Lead global income tax compliance, including preparation and review of federal, state, local, and international returns
- Oversee indirect tax compliance (sales & use tax, telecom taxes) and related payments
- Develop and execute tax strategies to optimize position and reduce global tax exposure
- Own the ASC 740 tax provision process, including reporting and disclosures
- Lead tax audits across all jurisdictions
- Provide forecasting for effective tax rates and cash tax impacts
- Monitor and interpret tax law changes and assess accounting implications
- Resolve complex tax matters and present insights to leadership
- Support tax due diligence, structuring, and transaction advisory initiatives
- Ensure transfer pricing compliance and documentation globally
- Establish and maintain tax policies supporting GAAP compliance, SOX readiness, and strong controls
- Manage external advisors and coordinate audit support
- Partner on key initiatives including system implementations, billing transformations, and product launches
- Lead telecom tax strategy including taxability, registrations, billing logic, exemptions, filings, and audits
- Drive adoption of AI and automation within the tax function
- Lead special projects and broader finance transformation efforts
- Build and mentor a high-performing, continuous-improvement tax team
Skills
- Bachelor's in Accounting or Taxation; CPA required (public accounting strongly preferred)
- ~12+ years of progressive tax experience in public multinational SaaS, technology, or telecom environments
- Strong expertise across U.S. GAAP tax accounting and multi-jurisdictional tax regimes
- Strong communicator with ability to translate complex tax concepts for non-technical audiences
- Proven leadership and ability to influence across functions and levels
- Strong organizational, analytical, and multi-priority management skills
- Experience with NetSuite and tax systems such as SureTax (or equivalent)
