[Remote] Director of People Operations

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Ditto is a fast-growing startup focused on redefining data movement at the edge. They are seeking a Director of People Operations to manage the People Operations function, ensuring a seamless employee experience and supporting strategic initiatives for growth.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day People Operations function, ensuring processes run smoothly and efficiently
• Own employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, offboarding, employee changes, and documentation
• Maintain and improve HR systems, policies, and processes as the company scales
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations
• Lead compensation programs including salary reviews, benchmarking, job leveling, and compensation planning
• Manage employee benefits programs and serve as the primary point of contact for benefits administration
• Oversee 401(k) administration, including employee communications, compliance requirements, and vendor relationships
• Act as a trusted advisor to managers on employee relations, performance concerns, team development, and organizational effectiveness
• Identify opportunities to strengthen employee engagement and retention

Skills

• Strong knowledge of compensation, benefits administration, performance management, and employment practices
• Experience managing 401(k) programs and working with benefits providers and brokers
• Proven ability to coach managers and influence leaders across all levels of the organization
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trust quickly
• Hands-on, practical, and excited to roll up your sleeves when needed
• Passion for creating an exceptional employee experience while helping the business grow
• A proactive and curious attitude about how AI can support your role through automation, ideation, or more thoughtful decision-making
• Experience leading People Operations at a hypergrowth startup
• Familiarity with Rippling, Lattice, Pave, Carta
• Experience working with employees who support both commercial and public sector customers
