Procurement Specialist
Ideal Candidate:
- Someone with a lot of public background and experience and can hit the ground running with contracts and solicitations. Understands Florida law and can work with our stakeholders and partners without additional training.
Must Haves:
- Strong *PUBLIC* or Government procurement experience (not just private).
- Ability to handle solicitation process.
- Ability to perform contract reviews, negotiations and drafting.
- Proven experience supporting RFPs, formal bids, and vendor selection processes
- Experience working with contracts, legal documentation, and procurement compliance standards
- Background handling complex or high-value purchasing transactions
- Experience resolving vendor-related issues (pricing, delivery, invoicing, warranties, etc
Responsibilities:
- Assists in the preparation of complex or specifications, legal advancements, formal bid invitations, requests for proposals, and correspondence regarding purchasing matters.
- Negotiates purchasing terms and conditions for the university.
- Resolves problems regarding pricing, delivery, returns, warranties and invoicing.
- Identifies, evaluates, supports, and solves complex issues related to purchasing. Resolves escalated problems.
