Role Description We're looking for a Healthcare Accountant / Controller to become a key member of our finance team. This position offers far more than traditional accounting responsibilities—you'll play an integral role in helping drive the financial health of a growing healthcare organization while partnering closely with leadership and our Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) Director. Your work will directly support the systems and processes that allow our clinical teams to focus on delivering exceptional patient care. This role is ideal for an accountant with healthcare experience—particularly within behavioral health—who is looking to take the next step in their career. Whether you're currently a Staff Accountant, Senior Accountant, Junior Controller, or Accounting Manager, this position provides the opportunity to broaden your responsibilities across nearly every aspect of the accounting function. Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance and reconciliations.
  • Oversee bookkeeping and ensure accurate financial recordkeeping.
  • Process and manage payroll.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable oversight.
  • Monitor revenue recognition and financial reporting.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Assist with audit preparation and tax-related documentation.
  • Maintain compliance with GAAP and healthcare accounting best practices.
  • Partner closely with the Revenue Cycle Management Director to support billing, collections, reimbursement reporting, and financial analysis.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and operational efficiency.
  • Assist leadership with financial reporting and ad hoc analysis as needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare accounting is required.
  • Behavioral health accounting experience is strongly preferred.
  • CPA designation is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with bookkeeping, payroll, financial reporting, and general accounting functions.
  • Understanding of healthcare revenue cycle concepts is highly desirable.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Comfortable working in a growing, fast-paced organization where responsibilities may evolve over time.
