Freelance Accountant & Fractional CFO

ChargeBot is a technology startup on a mission to make access to power easy, reliable, and affordable for field professionals. We are looking for an ethical, highly responsible freelance professional who can manage our day-to-day accounting while simultaneously stepping into a Fractional CFO role to guide our financial strategy and institutional relationships. Position Overview This is a hybrid, part-time contract role requiring 10 to 15 hours per month. You will be the sole custodian of our financial health—ensuring our books are immaculate, optimizing our cash flow, and leading the charge on securing credit, managing SBA requirements, and building relationships with financial institutions. Absolute integrity, reliability, and strict ethical standards are non-negotiable for this role.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting: Prepare and present clean, accurate monthly financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow). Fractional CFO & Strategic Guidance: Partner with ownership to optimize burn rate, run financial modeling, and identify areas for cost savings and operational efficiency. Budgeting & Forecasting: Maintain rolling cash-flow forecasts to ensure the business is always adequately capitalized. Month-End Close: Manage general ledger maintenance, bank reconciliations, and bookkeeping oversight. Capital, Credit & Relationship Management: Evaluate, apply for, and manage corporate credit lines, loans, and capitalization structures to support growth. SBA Loan Management: Navigate SBA loan requirements, ensuring full compliance, proper documentation, and strategic utilization of funds. Financial Relationships: Act as the primary point of contact and build strong relationships with banks, lenders, investors, and vendors. Compliance: Ensure all financial practices align with regulatory standards and maintain a pristine audit trail. Qualifications & Experience Experience: 5+ years of experience in accounting and corporate finance, with a proven track record of working with early-stage startups. Specialized Knowledge: Direct, hands-on experience dealing with business credit lines, SBA loans, and commercial banking relationships. Character: Uncompromising ethics, high accountability, and a proactive communication style. Tech Stack: Proficiency with cloud accounting software (QuickBooks Online, Xero) and advanced financial modeling in Excel/Google Sheets. Credentials: CPA, CMA, or MBA is a plus but practical, proven startup experience is paramount. Apply To this Job
